Throughout his career Donald has taken a particular interest in Forensic Medicine and Science with particular reference to its application to Criminal Law trials. He has Lectured to the Diploma in Forensic Medicine students of Glasgow University, the Diploma in Forensic Medical Sciences of The Academy of Forensic Sciences, London and is now a course examiner for the Society of Apothecaries of London. Donald is also a former Lecturer in Commercial Law at Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh.
Donald is routinely instructed by lawyers throughout the UK for expert guidance on such matters and the cross examination of expert witnesses. He is an Honorary Fellow of The American Board of Criminal Lawyers, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Lord Rector of the University of St Andrews 1993 to 1999 and twice Past President of the Scottish Criminal Bar Association.
Donald also accepts instructions across the whole range of prosecutions including Regulatory Crime, Health & Safety, Fatal Accident Inquiries, Disciplinary Tribunals, Sports Legislation, Human Rights and Discrimination matters.
